Heatshrink, Techflex and Solder

3:1 Polyolefin heatshrink - B2(3X) is extremely versatile because of its ability to shrink to 1/3 its original diameter. This means you don't have to worry about heatshrink sliding off your work or looking sloppy after secured. Available in one color (dark grey) and 5 diameters:

      1/16" - color coding individual wires
      1/4" - small parts and wire
      1/2" - smaller RCA plugs (Eichmann Bullet- plastic housing, WBT NEXTGEN) and speaker connectors
      3/4" - larger RCA plugs (Eichmann Bullet w/ Aluminum housing) and speaker cables
      1" - speaker cables and power cable bodys
      1.5" - Male AC plugs and IEC connectors to cable bodies larger than 1/2" dia.

3:1 CLEAR Polyolefin heatshrink - A4(3X) is similar to the B2(3X) above, but is a clear material that will allow for see-through cable identification and labeling. Available in 3/4" diameter.

3:1 Adhesive lined Polyolefin heatshrink - W3(B2) is similar to the B2(3X) above, but has a thick wall of modified polyamide adhesive which melts and flows, encapsulating and sealing components contained within. Available in 3/4" diameter, which will fit around most RCA connectors. Works well as a breakout boot for speaker cables. Simply heat with heat gun at the "Y" and then compress between the pigtails of the "Y" with a needle-nosed pliers.

3:1 Adhesive lined Polyolefin heatshrink - W5(DL) is a semi-rigid, dual wall polyolefin heat-shrinkable tubing. When heated, the inner liner melts and flows to encapsulate components contained within. This is a great heatshrink for parts that are fragile and need the rigidity and strength of this heatshrink. Available in 1/2" diameter, which will fit around WBT NextGen RCA connectors, and smaller diameter RCA plugs, including the Eichmann Bullet plugs with PLASTIC housings. Will NOT fit Eichmann Bullet plugs with Aluminum housings. * Sold in 1 foot sections only, due to stiffness.

Note to DIY'ers:

1/2" heatshrink is recommended for Flavors 1 and 3 power cables

1" heatshrink is recommended for securing the ground wire to Flavor 2 power cables

1 1/2" heatshrink is recommended for securing the AC plugs to the main cable body on Flavor 2 power cables

Techflex expandable nylon sleeving is ideal for finishing your DIY cable project, giving it a "professional" look. The color available is black only, and is available in 5 sizes. The cleanCut Techflex is a finer monofilament mesh than the standard version, looks much nicer, and has a more fabric-like finish to it. Very nice. It's a good idea to order 30%-50% MORE Techflex than you think you may need, since it will shorten when expanded around your work.

* Notes for DIY'ers:

Flavor 1 or 3 power cables - use 1/2"
Flavor 2 or 4 power cables - use 3/4"
Most interconnects - use 1/4" to 3/8"

WBT SILVER SOLDER is arguably the finest quality solder on the market and contains 4% fine silver content. The halogen-free flux protects against etching of surfaces and warrants long term stability and corrosion resistance. It also flows easily with a low melting temperature of 178� C. I recommend using with a 45-100 watt iron at 700 degrees F.
