WHAT IT IS:
The Foundation XL USB is a step up from Foundation SX. Synergistic Research rethought it using what it learned building its flagship SRX XL cables.
HOW IT WORKS:
According to Synergistic Research:
- SRX XL Matrix Shielding: SR's newest UEF compound on the shield, to lower the noise floor without holding back the signal.
- SRX XL High Voltage Conditioning: the same 1,000,000-volt, long-duration process SR uses on its flagship SRX XL cables.
- SR reports better dynamics, a more natural timbre and a lower noise floor than Foundation SX, so details sound smoother and more realistic.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Conductors: 4 Mk II copper matrix conductors, 23 gauge solid copper
- Dielectric: solid polyethylene
- Contacts: 24K gold-plated
- Shielding: dual silver Mylar/braid shield, SRX XL Matrix Shielding with UEF coating and graphene
- Treatment: SRX XL High Voltage Conditioning, UEF Blue Fuse conditioning
- Burn-in: 5 days, two-step process
- Lengths: 1, 2, 3 or 5 meters
- Ends: USB-A or USB-C (computer side); USB-B, USB-C, Micro-USB or USB 3.0 Type-B (DAC side)
