The Furutech NCF Clear Line-LAN is a passive line optimizer that plugs into an unused LAN (RJ45) port in your network or audio system. Think of it as a noise sponge parked in an empty port. Nothing passes through it, so there is nothing to rewire. It is the network version of Furutech's popular NCF Clear Line AC.
HOW IT WORKS:
According to Furutech, the Clear Line-LAN lowers noise on the line it is plugged into:
Audio-grade capacitor with a silver-colored damping coating, selected by listening tests and tuned to absorb noise from the equipment's port.
24k gold-plated nonmagnetic RJ45 (8P8C) connector with a gold-plated copper alloy EMI shield.
Semi-sealed air chamber, pressure sealed for extra damping.
NCF damping: a nonmagnetic stainless steel body ring with Furutech's NCF material, a four-layer hybrid NCF carbon fiber housing, and an NCF end cover with molded channels that add 90% more NCF surface area.
Alpha Process: all metal parts are cryogenically treated and demagnetized.
Furutech says you'll hear a lower noise floor right away, with more detail, a deeper and more focused soundstage, and better tonal balance, without coloring the sound.
HOW TO USE IT:
Plug it into any unused LAN port in your system. Furutech recommends a spare port on your router, Ethernet switch, Ethernet wall outlet or modem. A spare LAN port on your streamer or DAC also works.
Allow 24 hours or more of break-in.
The screws are factory torqued. Please don't take it apart.
