WHAT IT IS:

The Furutech NCF Clear Line-XLR is the balanced version of the Clear Line. It plugs into a vacant XLR jack on your preamp, DAC, amplifier or player and lowers the noise floor. Nothing passes through it, so there is nothing to rewire.

  • Female (F): plugs into a spare XLR output.
  • Male (M): plugs into a spare XLR input.

HOW IT WORKS:

According to Furutech:

  • NCF body: the contacts sit in a body made of NCF liquid crystal polymer (nylon, fiberglass, nano ceramic particles, carbon powder and Furutech's NCF), with NCF damping clips of the same material.
  • Conductors: rhodium-plated Alpha pure copper, one-piece construction. On the male version, the pins are injected with NCF.
  • Audio-grade ceramic capacitor (passive) with a silver-colored damping coating, selected by listening tests and tuned to absorb noise from the equipment's terminals.
  • Semi-sealed air chamber, pressure sealed for extra damping.
  • NCF damping housing: a stainless steel and NCF body ring, a four-layer hybrid NCF forged carbon fiber shell, and an NCF end cover with molded channels that add 90% more NCF surface area.
  • Alpha Process: all metal parts are cryogenically treated and demagnetized.

Furutech says you'll hear a lower noise floor right away, with a deeper and more focused soundstage, better harmonics and tonal balance, and more transparency, without coloring the sound.

HOW TO USE IT:

  • Choose the female for a spare XLR output, or the male for a spare XLR input. Furutech suggests a spare jack on your preamp or CD/SACD/multi-player.
  • Allow 24 hours or more of break-in. The screws are factory torqued, so please don't take it apart.

  • Type: passive XLR line optimizer (plugs into a vacant jack)
  • Versions: female (CF-602F based, for outputs) and male (CF-601M based, for inputs)
