WHAT IT IS:
The MiG 4.0 (Mechanical Interface Ground) is the latest version of SR's component footer, building on fifteen years of MiG designs since 2008. Synergistic Research says that where traditional footers try to isolate, and often deaden the music, the MiG 4.0 governs the flow of mechanical energy instead.
HOW IT WORKS:
According to Synergistic Research:
- Precision CNC-machined resonance chamber.
- High-carbon steel resonator with varied wall thickness: SR mapped how energy travels through it and thinned or thickened specific areas to control how mechanical energy leaves the component. SR reports better image density, low-level detail and timing.
- Voiced to work with SR's FEQ Carbon and its upcoming LogiQ field generators.
TWO WAYS TO TUNE:
Pinpoint (two footers round side down, one round side up): sharper focus, precise imaging and tighter bass. SR suggests it for streamers, PowerCells and solid-state gear. Ambient (two round side up, one round side down): a larger, layered soundstage with a more relaxed, liquid sound. SR suggests it for DACs and phono stages.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Set of 3 footers
- Dimensions: 1.3" H x 3.2" W x 3.2" D (each)
- Resonator: high-carbon steel, varied wall thickness, CNC-machined resonance chamber
