WHAT IT IS:
The MiG SRX is SR's flagship component footer. Synergistic Research calls it a resonance engine rather than an isolation footer: it governs the flow of mechanical energy under a component instead of deadening it.
HOW IT WORKS:
According to Synergistic Research:
- A triad of three UEF metamaterials: the three footers in a set are not identical. Footer Alpha is voiced for holographic realism and soundstage density, Footer Beta for bass impact and authority, and Footer Gamma for high-frequency air and extension.
- CNC-machined high-carbon steel resonator with varied wall thickness, to control how mechanical energy leaves the component.
- The first footer voiced to work with SR's FEQ Carbon and upcoming LogiQ field generators.
TWO WAYS TO TUNE:
Pinpoint (two footers round side down, one round side up): sharper focus, precise imaging and tighter bass. SR suggests it for streamers, PowerCells and solid-state gear. Ambient (two round side up, one round side down): a larger, layered soundstage with a more relaxed, liquid sound. SR suggests it for DACs and phono stages.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Set of 3 footers (Alpha, Beta and Gamma)
- Dimensions: 1.3" H x 3.2" W x 3.2" D (each)
- Resonator: CNC-machined high-carbon steel, varied wall thickness
- Damping: three UEF metamaterial formulations
